MARIELLE ALLSCHWANG & THE VISITATIONS release VISITATIONS IV
We made an album of rock n’ roll. We can’t wait to share it with you.
We’re also thrilled to join these women:
NADAH EL SHAZLY
Nadah El Shazly is an experimental Egyptian singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Her work both radically reinvents the early 20th century popular music of her homeland and boldly explores new sonic frontiers. Coming up performing Misfits covers and jazz standards in the Cairo underground, she has expounded on her DIY roots with a droning, cerebral, highly poetic sound that has positioned the artist at the center of the booming North African avant-garde. Her acclaimed debut album, 2017’s "Ahwar," was written and recorded by El Shazly on a computer between Egypt and Montreal. Swirling, lavish instrumentation was later arranged, working in collaboration with renowned figures from the improv/contemporary classical scene - Maurice Louca and Sam Shalabi (mem. The Dwarfs of East Agouza, Land of Kush). The album placed on many year-end lists, including The Wire magazine's best of 2017.
Kendra Amalie is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and new media artist combining technology and tradition to estimate the sound of modern folk. In her latest musical incarnation, she plays fingerstyle guitar on an acoustic/electric 12-string accompanied by motion controlled synths.
